#62 LEATHER TABLETOP DÉCOR

All SG Leather Rugs and Tabletop Décor receive a water-proofing topcoat prior to shipping. Periodically, the rugs and tabletop decor should be wiped clean using a damp cloth with a small amount of dishwashing liquid. Wipe the surface lightly back and forth to remove any surface dust, then follow up with a clean, damp cloth using clear water to rinse. The piece will get a little wet on the surface, (darker) as the water absorbs into the leather. The product will usually air dry and return to its original color in about 30 minutes.
What happens if I spill wine on my rug or table runner? Use a towel to blot the excess wine, then use clear water on a clean, damp cloth to wipe the area of the spill. After wiping away the excess wine, wipe again with clear water on a damp rag, but this time fur out your wiping over a larger area to avoid a large wet spot. For example, if the wine spilled on 6 square inches, wipe down an area of a few square feet. Basically, use the same technique you would with a pile rug.
Aging Expectations – Just like a horse saddle that has been worn and weathered through the years, your leather product will begin to develop a patina over time. Colors typically become darker, as with other fine leather goods (handbags, etc). Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
